Caterplus wins £35m kosher food contract with Jewish Care

Care caterer Caterplus has won a £35m contract to provide kosher catering and services to Jewish Care, the largest health and social care charity serving the Jewish community in the south east of England.

The five-year deal follows the success of a previous contract to provide services to three of Jewish Care's centres with provision extended to serve 28 of the charity's care facilities.

The Milton Keynes-based caterer will provide kosher catering, laundry and housekeeping services to 12 care homes, eight day centres and eight other properties in London, Brighton and Southend as part of the deal, which is worth an estimated £7m a year in turnover.

Jim Lovett, managing director of Caterplus, said: "We're delighted that the charity has recognised the hard work and teamwork that we've put in over the last five years and expanded our remit to become a much bigger part of their organisation."

Richard Munns, Jewish Care's deputy director of operations, added: "We have found Caterplus's proactive and flexible approach to have been a real asset and we are looking forward to further developing this relationship as Caterplus adopts a greater role within our organisation."

Caterplus specialises in care and welfare catering and employs more than 2,500 staff across the country.
