The Cavendish's Ben Malpass named Clef d'Or International Concierge of the Year
Ben Malpass, head concierge at the four-star Cavendish hotel, London, has been named as Clef d'Or International Concierge of the Year 2010 at the Clef d'Or International Congress in Lisbon.
He was selected to represent the UK against 11 other finalists in the international event after completing a written examination covering geography, general knowledge and concierge scenarios.
Since joining the Cavendish in 2005, Malpass has been recognised as the driving force behind the front-of-house team. He was awarded the front-of-house manager of the year award at the 2009 Hotel Catey's.
"We are absolutely delighted that Ben has won this award," said Ciaran Fahy, managing director at the Cavendish. "Since he joined the Cavendish, the front-of-house team has achieved guest satisfaction scores of over 95%. Ben leads from the front and ensures that guests receive the highest standards of service at all times."
