Glasgow brewer introduces world's strongest lager to UK
A Glasgow-based brewer has brought what it claims to be the world's strongest lager to the UK.
The West bar, restaurant and brewery has introduced Schorschbock from the Schorschbräu brewing firm in Germany.
At 40% abv, the beer is even stronger than Scottish brewer Brewdog's Tactical Nuclear Penguin, which it claimed last year was the world's strongest beer at 32% abv.
West's owner Petra Wetzel, from Bamberg in Bavaria, said: "I'm delighted to introduce Schorschbock, the world's strongest beer, to the UK to show my support for the tremendous work done by my fellow countrymen and brewers."
Wetzel claimed the beer would appeal to beer connoisseurs, and that sales would be restricted to one measure per customer.
