Frogmore gets green light to develop boutique hotel in London's Liverpool Street
Property firm Frogmore has secured planning permission to convert a building close to London's Liverpool Street Station into an 80-bedroom boutique hotel.
The news comes three months after Frogmore struck a deal with restaurant firm D&D London (formerly Conran Restaurants) to operate a luxury hotel on the site of 3&4 South Place, on a 35-year lease.
Architects Allies and Morrison have designed the 72,000sq ft property, while Conran Holdings, which is still D&D London's majority shareholder, will design the interior.
The hotel will feature a 7th-floor rooftop restaurant and bar, with an outdoor terrace overlooking the city skyline. Construction work, which includes demolition of the existing buildings, will start later this year. The hotel is set to open in summer 2012.
