Couture wins £2.5m contract at Manchester's People's History Museum
Concession caterer Couture has won a £2.5m contract to run the in-house bar and restaurant at the redeveloped People's History Museum in Manchester.
Couture will run the catering facilities at the Left Bank café bar at the newly-refurbished and extended museum in the city's former Pump House from 13 February.
The five-year contract sees the caterer providing an on-the-go menu of sandwiches, wraps and salads, as well as a menu designed to support the museum's remit of documenting the history of the labour movement. The catering operation will extend to corporate events and weddings, with the venue operating as a café by day and as a bar by night.
It is the second venue for Couture in the city, which saw its presence at the Manchester Museum increase sales from the previous incumbent's turnover by 53% in two years.
Marc Warde, Couture managing director, said: "We are delighted to be opening our second exciting venue in Manchester and begin our growth in the North of England."
The concession will see Couture's brand of fresh produce, much of which is locally sourced, laid out on a farmhouse-style table for self-service, alongside a staffed hot-food counter and a motorized coffee and snack offering from one of their Piaggio vehicles.
