Developer hands over Hotel Verta and heliport to Von Essen
The first integrated hotel heliport in Europe is being handed over to Von Essen hotels today.
Hotel Verta and the new London Heliport terminal in Battersea, London, is being passed over from the developer, Weston Homes.
The 70-bedroom hotel is Von Essen's 30th hotel and its first in London. Overlooking the River Thames, the hotel is due to open in the summer and will offer a restaurant, bar and subterranean spa.
The development of the hotel, which will create 100 jobs, coincides with the regeneration of the Thames riverfront.
"Today we announce an important step in our continued growth with a new London hotel opening this year adjoined to the London Heliport," said Andrew Davis, chairman of Von Essen hotels.
"Hotel Verta along with the new heliport terminal signals a design-led solution, offering state of the art facilities and creating the ultimate in convenience for both our business and leisure guests."
