Compass scores £60m contract with Chelsea FC
Compass Group has scored a new five-year deal with Chelsea Football Club worth in the region of £60m.
The new contract sees Compass extend the relationship with the football club that began in 2005.
The caterer will continue providing match day retail and hospitality, and conference and events operations at Stamford Bridge, as well as food and beverage for the first team and academy players at the Surrey-based training grounds.
In addition Compass will provide catering at the Chelsea Club and Chelsea Tea Bar, which is located directly next to the 42,000 capacity football ground.
The Chelsea contract win comes amid news that Compass has successfully retained £35m a year of business within its sport, leisure and hospitality division, including contract extensions at Wimbledon, Leeds Castle, and Penshurst Place.
Matthew Thompson, Compass' managing director for sport, leisure and hospitality, said it had been a great start to the New Year.
