Harbour & Jones promotes Gary McKechnie to director of food
Boutique contract caterers Harbour & Jones has announced that Gary McKechnie has been promoted to director of food.
McKechnie joined the company as chef for hospitality in 2008 with over 25 years of food, catering and management experience.
He worked for Compass Group from 1990, rising from head chef at the London Stock Exchange to executive chef for Restaurant Associates at the Royal Bank of Scotland, overseeing the catering for more than 3,000 employees.
Patrick Harbour, co-founder of Harbour & Jones said: "We promoted Gary after one year of working at Harbour & Jones. Impressed with his enthusiasm, imagination, hard work and dedication to the industry, we are sure these assets will help refine the service and food quality at Harbour & Jones."
As director of food, McKechnie's responsibilities will include developing strategies to implement Harbour & Jones' food style whilst continuing to increase standards and source ethical, sustainable and seasonal British produce. Clients of Harbour & Jones include The Royal Society, RADA and St Paul's Cathedral.
McKechnie said he was thrilled by the promotion. He added: "Working for one of the country's most innovative catering and food service companies is a dream job."
