Gordon Ramsay faces second lawsuit over unpaid wine bills

Gordon Ramsay is facing a second lawsuit over unpaid wine bills at his two-Michelin-starred restaurant in New York.

Last week Wineberry America filed a lawsuit against the celebrity chef and Blackstone Group, which now operates the restaurant at the London hotel in midtown Manhattan, over unpaid bills of nearly $41,000 (£28,000).

According to court papers filed at the Supreme Court of New York, Wineberry was "fraudulently induced" to provide alcohol accusing both Ramsay and the Blackstone Group of never having had any "intention" of paying for the supplied goods.

Now a second wine merchant has filed a law suit on the same grounds. VOS Selections is alleging unpaid bills nearly $38,000 (£25,500) with owner Victor Owen Schwartz claiming the group was "yet to see a dime".

A spokeswoman for Gordon Ramsay Holdings said: "We are in the process of working through any outstanding claims in regards to The London NYC and all bills will be paid in due course."

The lawsuits are the latest in a series of problems Ramsay has faced at the London NYC hotel. After initial troubles with the neighbours over noise and hygiene violations, the restaurant was last year being pursued by creditors and hit by complaints from customers about its service and quality of food.
