Ex-Greene King boss heads up new pub company

A former Greene King boss is to take the helm of a new pub company which plans to buy more than 200 pubs in the next 12 to 18 months.

David Elliott, who was managing director of Greene King Pub Partners until he retired at the end of last year, will be chairman of Quercus Pub Co.

The new operator is backed by Quercus Capital, a leisure-related property management business based in Cardiff.

Quercus said that it was looking to acquire around 200 leased and tenanted pubs over the next 12 to 18 months.
