Enterprise sells pub where Ronnie Kray murdered George Cornell
Enterprise Inns has sold an East London pub made infamous by a gangland murder involving the Kray Twins for £1.26m.
The Blind Beggar in Whitechapel was the former haunt of Ronnie and Reggie Kray and the site of the murder of George Cornell, a member of the Richardson gang, run by brothers Charlie and Eddie who were scrap metal dealers and criminals.
Enterprise sold eight other pubs at the Allsops auction yesterday on a sale-and-leaseback basis, raising a total of around £13m. One, the Old Ship in Hackney, did not sell.
