Adam Elliott leaves Elior for Lindley CEO role

Adam Elliott is to leave Elior to join stadia caterer Lindley Group as chief executive officer at the end of August.

Elliott, managing director of Elior's concessions business until the end of the week, will fill the CEO role which has been vacant since last November after Alex McCrindle passed away unexpectedly.

He told Caterer it was a hard decision to leave the French firm. "I've absolutely loved what I've been doing with Elior and I wouldn't have chosen to leave for any other role, but I'm very excited by the new challenge at Lindley," he said.

Finance director Graham Boyle is to step up to the managing director position from 1 June while the company recruits for a permanent replacement for Elliott.

Michael Audis, Elior chief executive, said: "Adam has been instrumental in the development of the Elior concessions business. We are very sorry to lose him but wish him every success in his future career."

Elior has also announced the appointment of Dawn Gallimore as its new sales director responsible for business growth across its contracts, concessions and related services sectors. Gallimore has previously worked for Compass Group, Sodexo and BaxterStorey.

Meanwhile Elior has also announced two contract wins in the healthcare and education sectors, worth nearly £39m.

Through its Avenance Healthcare division, Elior will operate the staff, visitor, hospitality and vending services at Walsall Manor hospital in the West Midlands. The 15-year deal is worth £30m and comes during the final phase of the hospital's £162m redevelopment.

Catherine Roe, Elior managing director of contracts, said it was a fiercely contested contract. "We are delighted to have been chosen and see this as an endorsement of the quality we strive to deliver for all our clients," she added.

In addition, Elior has secured repeat business at Kingston University in London with a new contract worth £8.4m, following 13 years as the incumbent caterer.

The three-year deal will start on 1 August and sees Elior provide the catering for more than 22,000 students, staff and visitors across four campuses in a year-round operation.
