Renaissance opens fifth pub, Tommyfield in Kennington

London-based pub operator Renaissance Pubs has opened its fifth venue, the Tommyfield in Kennington.

The new pub, owned by Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox, takes its name from the Oldham market where the first British fish and chip shop opened 150 years ago. It has been designed to take inspiration from the chophouses and markets of the time.

Its menu, created by Renaissance's executive chef, Massimo Tebaldi, will showcase British fare based on the best produce available on any given day, using 10 daily-changing blackboard specials.

Beers available include Wandle from Battersea, Doom Bar from Sharps Brewery in Cornwall, and Timothy Taylor's Landlord from Yorkshire.

A private dining room at the venue offers space for up to 80 people standing and 40 seated.
