Cougar Leisure to sell off 11 pubs and bars
Nightclub and pub operator Cougar Leisure is selling 11 pubs and bars for £5.7m.
The package, which comprises a mixture of freeholds and leaseholds, features Cougar Leisure's Brannigans-branded bars in Blackpool, Manchester and Romford, and its Mood-branded units in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Newcastle.
Non-branded sites included in the package are the Berkeley in Wigan, the Boardwalk in Sheffield, the Townhouse in Whitley Bay, and the Spirit and the View, which are both in Manchester.
The sites are available individually or as a group.
Simon Chaplin, director at Christie & Co, which is handling the sale said: "This package features established venues, the majority of which are significant in size and located in prominent town and city centre locations. We therefore expect them to generate high levels of interest from national, regional and local operators plus local entrepreneurs."
Cougar Leisure started trading in July 2008, formed out of the ashes of Herald Inns & Bars, which entered a pre-pack administration shortly before. Cougar, which is headed by Julian Sargeson, took on 21 of Herald's 37 sites.
