Hospitality budget at DCMS to be slashed
The official hospitality budget for entertainment at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, is likely to be slashed.
In a written reply to a question from the Labour MP for Bassetla, John Mann, asking about the allocation for entertainment, tourism minister John Penrose said that the 2010-11 figure stood at £155,478. This budget, which includes alcohol, was inherited from the previous government.
"We are now looking at ways to significantly reduce this," said Penrose. "Similar budgets for the following two years will not be set until after the next Spending Review in the autumn."
