Radisson Edwardian implicated in spill that closed Oxford Street
Radisson Edwardian'sBerkshire hotel has been implicated in a ‘chemical' scare that closed down London's Oxford Street for more than an hour last Thursday.
Seven pedestrians were hit by liquid thought to have been thrown from the window of the Radissoson Edwardian Berkshire hotel and 10 fire engines were rushed to the scene at 18.13pm after a woman complained of skin irritation.
The street was closed while officers in chemical suits identified the liquid as a mix of water and bleach. Nobody required hospital treatment
A police spokesman told BBC News that, "It was probably a cleaner who threw it out of the window."
The hotel company later released a statement saying: "There was some spillage of water from the roof of the hotel on Thursday evening. The police examined the fluid and reported it as water only."
