Guoman to spend £18m on Grosvenor refurbishment

Guoman Hotels ](http://www.caterersearch.com/A-Z/CompaniesLanding/224/666/Page1.htm)has announced a £18m refurbishment of its 357-bedroom Grosvenor hotel, adjacent to London's Victoria Station.

The redesign of all bedrooms and public areas of the four star deluxe hotel will be contemporary in style, whilst remaining sensitive to the property's heritage as a Victorian railway hotel.

To be completed by 2012, the refurbishment will include the development of a self-contained executive accommodation tower with views over the city and a Guoman club lounge for business guests. A new, high-end Cantonese restaurant, the Grand Imperial, will open later this year, while the Grosvenor Brasserie is to be developed as a new relaxed dining environment.

Managing director of Guoman & Thistle Hotels, Heiko Figge, said that the extensive work at the hotel will ensure the Grosvenor becomes an integral part of the five-strong group of luxury Guoman hotels in London.

"The ambitious development strategy our investment is allowing us to implement will truly mark the property's future as a world-recognised London hotel, delivered with 100% consideration for what our guests actually require and appreciate; whether that's on business or pleasure," he said.
