Drake & Morgan set to open fourth site
Bar operator Drake & Morgan, is set to launch its fourth site, the Folly, on 41 Gracechurch Street in October 2010.
The company is pitching the 13,200sq ft, 500-cover venue as London's "secret garden" with a botanical theme.
The Folly will feature a large bar, kitchen, deli and flower shop, as well a private dining room and a snug library on the ground floor. The subterranean level sees a bar alongside another private dining room, an evolving pop-up shop and private vaults.
Commenting on the opening, Jillian MacLean, managing director of Drake & Morgan said: "I'm excited to be launching our fourth site, the Folly. Since the successful launch of the Refinery at Bankside, the Parlour at Canary Wharf and the Anthologist on Gresham Street, we are thrilled to be opening a further site in the City. Having visited the East and West coasts of America for inspiration we aim to provide the City with a refreshingly independent bar that has a number of pleasantly surprising additions for our customers".
MacLean, a former operations director at Novus Leisure, won the 2010 Pub and Bar Catey earlier this year.
The Folly will be open from 7:30am to 1:30am Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 11pm on Sundays, with exclusive hire available on weekends.
