Tortilla opening fifth restaurant next month
London casual-dining chain Tortilla is expanding, with the opening of a fifth restaurant next month.
The group has secured a site in Leadenhall Market in the City of London, which follows outlets in Bankside, Islington, Canary Wharf and Oxford Circus.
The new site, which will open mid-September, will be a 110-seat restaurant, with a further 20 seats outside.
The brainchild of managing director Brandon Stephens, Tortilla comprises a group Californian-Mexican taqueria-style restaurants with a focus on fresh ingredients. With an average spend of £5, the menu offers burritos, fajitas or tacos with main fillings including grilled chicken marinated in adobo seasoning (pollo asado); pork (carnitas); or grilled steak (carne asada).
Stephens commented: "We've had a great response since opening our first site in 2007. Our Canary Wharf store serves 20,000 meals a month. We are confident that Leadenhall will be equally successful."
