Taylor Shaw wins £1m contract at St Francis Xavier's College in Liverpool
Education caterer Taylor Shaw has won a £1m contract at St Francis Xavier's College in Liverpool, following a selection process led in part by the students.
The company secured the three-year, £1.2m deal following input from the school's student council.
The school's dining facilities are currently undergoing a refurbishment and cashless till systems are being installed after feedback from students that they wanted to be able to be served and eat more quickly.
Jim Lovett, managing director of Taylor Shaw, said: "We always relish the opportunity to listen to students to find out what they want whenever we plan new services. But in this case, they were actually an influential part of the selection process.
"It was their input which caused us to redesign part of the dining room so that we can provide a speedier service. We understand they were also impressed the quality and variety of fresh, healthy food which will be on the menu from September."
Headteacher Les Rippon added: "Having seen the way Taylor Shaw really listened to what our students wanted, we are convinced that they will take their views on board and we are looking forward to working with them over the next three years."
