Richoux Group to develop Zippers and Frankie's Easy Diner concepts

Richoux is pushing ahead with the development of its newly introduced brands Zippers and Frankie's Easy Diner, after a steady group performance in the first half of the year.

The operator, which also has four Richoux restaurants, opened a second family-friendly Zippers in Andover, Hampshire at the start of this month. A third site is due to open before the year end in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.

The original Zippers was launched in Chatham, Kent, last year.

Richoux is also developing its Frankie's Easy Diner brand, which made its debut this April, also in Chatham. A second site will open before the end of 2010 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Philip Shotter, chairman of Richoux, said: "Against trading conditions which remain challenging the core Richoux brand continues to perform steadily.

"The trading from the first Zippers and Frankie's Easy Diner is in line with expectations and additional openings are envisaged to further assess the viability of those concepts."

Group turnover in the 28 weeks ended 11 July increased to £2.71m (2009: £2.69m) and the company made a pre-tax profit of £440,000, compared with a loss of £990,000 in the same period a year ago.
