Boringdon Hall Hotel for sale at £2.25m

The 41-bedroom Boringdon Hall Hotel - set in a Grade I-listed Elizabethan manor house near Plymouth, Devon - has been put on the market for £2.25m.

Set within seven acres of grounds, the hotel is a popular wedding and banqueting venue and hosts around 80 functions a year. Originally built around 1557, the house was converted in the 1980s and includes a 60-cover restaurant, residents' bar, four banqueting suites and a 350-capacity marquee.

It also has a gazebo courtyard and a health and beauty treatment suite.

The property is being sold as the current owner, who bought the hotel in 2004, is going to retire.

Simon Stevens, director of Christie + Co, who is marketing the hotel, said this is a unique opportunity to acquire a historic and established hotel. "We believe Boringdon Hall Hotel represents an excellent opportunity for a forward thinking individual or experienced operator who is willing to invest in the hotel's future potential to increase revenue and convert the profitability in line with industry standards," he said.
