Pride Catering scoops up £1.75m of new contracts
Guildford-based Pride Catering has announced £1.75m in new contract wins over the past six months, with Saxon Weald Housing Association, McCarthy & Stone and Somerset Care among its new clients.
The new contracts have helped to expand Pride's healthcare and education elements of the business and the company has achieved a 23% lift in turnover this year as a result.
The contracts, which vary in length from one to three years, will add in excess of £3m turnover for their duration, and serve nearly 600,000 meals a year.
Tim Price, joint managing director for Pride, said: "The past nine months have been very exciting for our company and despite strong competition in all of the tender processes, we won through and have brought in a record number of 16 new catering operations.
"We've been working very hard developing new sustainable food options, which have struck a chord with our new clients, and as a result of these wins we've also expanded our support team with the arrival of Simon Tombs as operations manager."
He added that care catering is a key growth area for the business and that Pride's clients are looking for a different offer in supported living. "There's a strong emphasis on the contractor sharing the risks and rewards of a commercial venture, whilst maintaining superb quality for residents, who often have a significant equity stake in their new home," he explained.
