Milroy head chef Simon Foster will be ‘hugely missed'
Simon Foster, head chef of the Milroy restaurant at Les Ambassadeurs Club in Mayfair has died aged 45.
The chef died of heart failure in August and his funeral was held earlier this month.
Foster began his career as an apprentice at La Tante Claire under Pierre Koffmann in 1987, before starting as a chef de partie at Claridges in 1989. In 1991, he joined London Clubs who previously owned Les Ambassadeurs, the Ritz Club and 50 St James. He worked for London Clubs in various roles and at various venues until he became head chef at Les Ambassadeurs in 2001.
In May 2010, Simon became head chef of the Milroy, the newly opened restaurant at les Ambassadeurs. London Clubs no longer owns the Milroy or Les Ambassadeurs.
Ludovic Bargibant, restaurant manager at the Milroy, said: "Simon Foster was an extraordinarily talented chef who worked with us for 19 years. He will be hugely missed by all the team at Les Ambassadeurs Club and the Milroy, and his shoes will be extremely difficult to fill."
