Ampersand wins £8m RIBA contract extension

Ampersand has been awarded an £8m contract extension with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) headquarters building in Portland Place, London.

The four-and-a-half-year deal sees Ampersand continue to operate the RIBA Restaurant, restyled by Conran & Partners; the adjoining roof garden terrace; the RIBA Café; and the RIBA Café Bar. It will also cater for the portfolio of 24 meetings and events spaces.

Paul Jackson, managing director of Ampersand, said: "We won the original contract back in 2005 and it was our first concession contract. Being awarded this new contract is a clear endorsement of how we are managing our commercial clients."

Ampersand is the newly branded arm of CH&Co with an annual turnover of £18m. It looks after iconic venues such as the RIBA, London Zoo and the Royal College of Surgeons.
