Ed's Easy Diner acquires sixth site

US-style burger chain Ed's Easy Diner is to open a sixth site, following its acquisition of a new outlet in the West End of London.

The company, which is owned by Apple Pan Holdings, has taken on the lease of the former Ekachai restaurant in Sedley Place, WC1. It will pay an annual rent of £70,000 for the 1,200sq ft unit, which has 18 years left on the lease. The deal was brokered by property agent Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL).

This is Ed's Easy Diner's third acquisition since Apple Pan Holdings bought the company last year.

DCL's Josh Leon said: "It was difficult for Ekachai - they struggled being opposite the more recognised brand of Yo! Sushi. Ed's offering complements the existing retail and leisure mix in the street. We had strong interest in the property, proving there is high demand returning for good-quality opportunities. We are inundated with applicants seeking similar opportunities."
