BaxterStorey sponsors Simon Hulstone's Bocuse d'Or bid
Bocuse d'Or finalist Simon Hulstone is to receive sponsorship from the BaxterStorey Foundation in his endeavour to win the international culinary competition.
The independent contract caterer will support Hulstone, who was selected by the Academy of Culinary Arts to represent the UK at the contest during the 15th Salon International de la Restauration, de l'Hôtellerie et de l'Alimentation (SIRHA). The international hotel and catering exhibition will be held in Lyon, France, in January next year.
BaxterStorey chief executive Alastair Storey said: "It is important that we as an industry encourage and support our talented chefs and make it possible for them to compete and win accolades at an international level.
"At BaxterStorey our investment in chef training is at the heart of what we do and our support of Simon and the UK Bocuse d'Or team will enable them to train and compete more effectively. We are proud to be assisting our peers in their endeavours and we wish them the best of luck."
Hulstone is the chef-proprietor at the Elephant in Torquay, the first restaurant in Torquay to receive a Michelin star, which it has held since 2006.
