New Hampton by Hilton to be developed at Gatwick

A new three-star Hampton by Hilton hotel is to be operated at Gatwick Airport by Shiva Hotels.

Located in the North Terminal, the hotel is being developed in the previous office space of Longbridge House. It will have a bar, restaurant, meeting rooms and a fitness suite.

Emma Rees, head of property at Gatwick Airport, said that the new hotel will give passengers an alternative to the existing four-star hotels in the North and South Terminals.

"It is also a great example of the innovative, more passenger-focused approach the new leadership team is taking to managing the airport assets, as is the speed at which this deal was agreed," she added.

Global Infrastructure Partners, the new owner of Gatwick Airport, is currently investing nearly £1b to modernise the airport facilities and improve the passenger experience.
