REL pub company to open sixth site

The REL pub company is set to open its sixth site in Newbury in 2011.

The new business, which is in the Kennet Leisure Centre near a Vue cinema, will open from 7am to serve coffee under the Coffee Republic brand and will close at 3am for its late night lounge called the Break Bar.

Chief executive Andy Scott said REL was spending £700,000 fitting out the new unity and would be recruiting staff from January 2011.

REL is backed by London-based REL Capital to acquire 20 sites in the next two years.

REL Pub Co already has sites in Eastleigh, Essex and Bournemouth and there are more sites planned across the South in the New Year.
