Premier Inn set to double in size in London
Premier Inn is looking to double its portfolio of hotels within the M25, to a total of 95 hotels.
It already has 48 hotels within the area and is looking to add a further 47, either by building new properties or converting existing hotels or offices.
Derek Griffin, head of acquisitions for Premier Inn Greater London, said that London was the brand's number one market and there was scope to extend its presence further.
"Our strong performance as a business and our Whitbread Plc-backed covenant means that we're an attractive partner for developers and investors and we will look at any opportunity if it can help us improve our portfolio."
Property consultant King Sturge has been appointed to assist Premier Inn in its surge for suitable properties and sites, alongside existing retained agent Cropper & Co.
Premier Inn currently has 580 budget hotels with more than 42,000 rooms across the UK and Ireland.
