Revive sells Old Bear pub after two years
Revive Pubs has sold one of its two properties, the Old Bear in Cobham, Surrey, less than two years after the company took it over.
Revive, which is owned by Richard Turner and Simon Anderson, sold the Punch tied leasehold property to pizza and pasta brand Wildwood, which now has eight sites across Buckinghamshire, Essex, Kent and Greater London.
Turner and Anderson took on the Grade II-listed Old Bear in early 2009, and won two AA rosettes later that year with the help of chef Nathan Green.
It was sold off an asking price of £275,000 with rent set at £70,000 by property agent Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL). The pub comprises a trading area of 2,000sq ft with around 85 seated covers, as well as front and rear beer gardens.
DCL's Chris Bickle said: "The Old Bear is situated in one the country's most affluent commuter belts and as such attracted many quality operators in both the restaurant and pub sector. We are inundated with further requirements for the surrounding area."
Revive also owns the Albion in Islington, London.
