Jamie Oliver's new cookbook becomes fastest selling ever

Jamie Oliver's new cookbook 30-Minute Meals has become the fastest-selling non-fiction title of all time, according to new figures from The Bookseller magazine.

The book sold 735,000 copies in 10 weeks, meaning its sales were more than twice those of Guinness World Records, its nearest rival. The past week has been the most successful so far, with 110,000 copies sold.

However, Oliver's book is not the best-selling cookbook of all time - that honour goes to Delia Smith's How to Cook (Book 1), which has sold over a million copies.

Tom Tivnan, features editor of The Bookseller, told the BBC: "It really is quite phenomenal to have sales like that when the TV series is finished and the book has been out a few weeks. I am pretty sure it will go on to be the biggest-selling cookbook ever."
