Hilton Worldwide opens 200th hotel in Europe
Hilton Worldwide has opened its 200th hotel in Europe, the Doubletree by Hilton Varna - Golden Sands in Bulgaria.
The announcement follows a period of growth for the hotel empire, which has opened 50 hotels in Europe over the past three years. Newly introduced brands such as Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Doubletree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton now make up 20% of its European estate.
Simon Vincent, area president Europe, Hilton Worldwide, said: "We are experiencing an incredibly exciting period in our 91-year history, as we look to introduce more guests to more hotels around the world than ever before.
"In Europe, the popularity of our award-winning brands and performance advantage has enabled us over recent years to rapidly grow our portfolio and help achieve our goals of being market leaders at all levels of the hospitality sector."
The Doubletree by Hilton Varna - Golden Sands opens as the first Doubletree by Hilton in Bulgaria and is the 16th of this full-service brand to open in Europe. It joins the recent launch of Hampton by Hilton Derby City Centre, which becomes the eighth example of the economy brand in the UK.
Hilton Worldwide currently has over 80 hotels in its European pipeline, all scheduled to open in the next three years.
