WSH appoints Anil Alim procurement and supply chain director

BaxterStorey owner Westbury Street Holdings (WSH) has appointed Anil Alim as its procurement and supply chain director.

Reporting directly to finance director Marc Bradley, Alim will oversee a purchasing budget in excess of £123m, which is expected to increase in line with growth plans for the next five years.

He is tasked with further developing relationships between WSH and its 1,600 supply partners, including individual farmers, growers and artisan producers.

He will also be expected to cultivate the company's relations with the main industry bodies and associations that govern and influence the sector.

Prior to joining WSH, which also owns Caterlink, Holroyd Howe, Benugo and Portico, Alim was the European purchasing director for office products wholesaler Spicers.

He brings with him to his new role 20 years of experience working both on the supplier and buyer sides of the procurement relationship in the hospitality, food retail, retail and business services sectors.

Alastair Storey, WSH chief executive, said: "Sustainable procurement and the excellent relationships that we have with our supply partners are at the heart of our business.

"I am delighted that Anil will be contributing to our business in this important area."

Alim added: "The importance that Westbury places on provenance and seasonality offers exciting opportunities and challenges for the supply chain and I am looking forward to becoming part of such a driven passionate team."
