Talkington Bates enjoyed best-ever trading year in 2010
Independent contract caterer Talkington Bates had its best-ever trading year in 2010 in the face of lingering economic gloom.
The company saw year-on-year boosts to turnover and profit of 11% and 16.1% in addition to a record number of contract wins and retentions since it was formed in 1998.
Group managing director Paul Bates said: "It was an excellent year for the company - our best yet - which is a great performance considering the challenging nature of the economy over the past 12 months."
Talkington Bates also picked up more industry awards than in any other year, including the Association of Catering Excellence (ACE) Ready Steady Cook Team Challenge.
Bates added: "The performance during 2010 gives us a firm foundation to build on during the year ahead, which once again will be challenging for everybody in the industry, but we are confident we can maintain our rapid rate of progress and business expansion."
