Hotel du Vin to open Bistro du Vin on former Eastside Inn site
Boutique hotel group Hotel du Vin has taken over the former site of Bjorn van der Horst's Eastside Inn in east London and will relaunch it as the capital's first Bistro du Vin.
Launching in April, the restaurant will offer an all-day menu from breakfast through to late night dinner until 3am with the menus overseen by Hotel du Vin chefs Keith Shearer and John Woodward.
Master Sommelier Ronan Sayburn will oversee the 500-bin wine offering and has employed the winner of Michel Roux's Service, Danielle Meenagh, as a sommelier following her six-month placement at the Hotel du Vin in Winchester.
Spread over two floors, the Bistro du Vin will include an open kitchen with a 30-seat bar alongside it as well as a chef's table and 14-seat private dining room downstairs. Interiors will be designed by Katrina Bradley featuring dark wood floors, leather banquettes and dark wood tables.
Bjorn and Justine van der Horst opened the Eastside Inn in spring 2009 but were forced to close the restaurant last September.
