D&D London slashes prices of fine wines

Restaurant group D&D London is slashing the prices of its fine wines across its 20 restaurants in the capital.

From today, the company is significantly reducing the mark-up on its most expensive vintages to make fine wines more accessible to diners. The offer will apply to about 2,000 wines priced at £50 or more.

D&D London chairman and chief executive Des Gunewardena commented: "The more a bottle of wine costs us, the lower the percentage mark-up in the restaurants.

"By reducing the mark-ups on fine wines we are making them far more accessible to customers for whom they may previously have been out of reach, as well as offering exceptional value for money to wine connoisseurs."

To mark the launch of the initiative D&D London has created a Top 100 list of fine wines offering well-known vintages for a fraction of their usual price.

These include a bottle of Cristal Louis Roederer 2002 Champagne at less than half price at £156 (down from £323) as well as Château Cheval Blanc St Emilion Premier Cru Grand Classé 1985 at £355, down from £600.

A 1995 Château Pétrus will be on sale for £1,450, more than £1,000 cheaper than at other London restaurants.

The full list of reduced wines is featured on D&D London's website.
