Compass partners bookseller Blackwell's to run Costa Coffee at Nottingham University

Compass Group has formed a partnership with book retailer Blackwell's in a new five-year contract at Nottingham University.

The contract, worth £2m in total turnover, sees the caterer's retail business operate a new Costa Coffee café within the Blackwell's bookshop in the university's Portland building.

It marks the second deal for Compass Retail within the university's grounds; Compass currently operates the retail areas at the campus-based teaching hospital, Queen's Medical Centre.

Lynn King, business director - retail, Compass Group, said, "Working with Blackwell's is a fantastic new opportunity for Compass. The joint venture allows both companies to combine their specialities, resulting in a much-improved student experience."
