Future Inns announces its first Future Hotel Apprentice

23 February 2011

Future Inns has announced that 16-year-old Jacob Brown is the winner of its first Future Hotel Apprentice competition.

Brown, from Bristol, will now undertake a month-long management apprenticeship at the hotel chain.

"This is a great opportunity for me to learn about the hospitality industry and it's fantastic to have mentoring sessions with the hotel founder, Del Brett," Brown said.

Brown impressed the judges with his idea of opening an English themed hotel in the USA, and proposed that it would offer American guests a quintessential "Best of British" experience.

His prizes includes £500 cash and a laptop to help kick-start his career. He will also attend the People 1st World Host Customer Service Training Package and host a weekly "Future Apprentice" blog.

The competition is being supported by leading charities and business figures including the Prince's Trust and ex-Dragons Den contestant Rob Law.

Future Inns, which was introduced from Canada in 2005, currently has three three-star hotels in the UK and intends to open more over the next five years.
