London Restaurant Festival joins forces with Livebookings

The London Restaurant Festival (LRF) has announced a partnership with Livebookings to increase its profile.

The move to work with the online marketing and reservations service is designed to help promote festival menus and increase the number of covers in London restaurants.

Simon Davis, director and co-founder of the LRF, said: "Working with Livebookings helps to make it easier for the restaurateurs to take part in the festival menu experience, and simpler and more rewarding for the customers to enjoy."

Livebookings will help streamline the process of restaurant registration and festival menu booking. With a 25-person team the festival will have a greater outreach to both restaurateurs and customers.

Last year the citywide celebration of restaurants and the capital's cuisine saw around 600 restaurants serve almost 50,000 festival menus.

Colin Tenwick, CEO of Livebookings, said: "Our expertise in how to effectively target consumers through online marketing, and our track record in getting customers through the door will help make attendance at this year's event bigger than ever before."

The LRF was created by Evening Standard restaurant critic Fay Maschler and Simon Davis in 2009. The two-week festival takes place from 3 to 17 October 2011 with a range of activities culminating in the London Restaurant Festival Awards.

Phil Howard, head chef and proprietor of the Square, said: "As the LRF expands in the years to come it will hopefully play an ever-increasing role in uniting all those who are passionate about the production or consumption of top-quality food. As a London chef I certainly support it."
