Stuart Gillies made managing director of Gordon Ramsay Holdings

Stuart Gillies has been appointed to the position of managing director of Gordon Ramsay Holdings. Gillies, who has been with the group for 10 years, will be responsible for managing the restaurant operations.

He will be supported by Mark Askew, who heads up the fine-dining operations, and interim finance director Geoff Eades. Ramsay will continue to oversee all operations.

Ramsay said: "I'm delighted to make this announcement. Stuart is first and foremost a brilliant chef and has considerable experience managing restaurants, and through the support of Geoff Eades and Mark Askew will help take the business forward.

"After an extremely successful opening of Savoy Grill, we've entered the new year in a strong position with the business performing well and we are really excited and confident about the future."
