Rocco Forte Collection to manage second Egyptian hotel

The Rocco Forte Collection has entered into a contract to refurbish and operate the 82-bedroom Luxor Hotel in Egypt.

The Egyptian Government-owned property is currently closed and will reopen in 2013. Renovation will start immediately with George Freeman and Associates of London designing the interior and British company 3D Reid carrying out the architectural changes.

Sir Rocco Forte, chairman and CEO of the Rocco Forte Collection, said: "We are very pleased to be working with the Egyptian Government on a second hotel, following the signing of a similar contract in 2009 to manage the Shepheard Hotel in Cairo.

"When this historic Luxor property joins the Rocco Forte Collection in 2013, following an extensive renovation, it will be one of the region's leading luxury hotels, with visitors to this stunning destination able to enjoy the stylish design and exemplary levels of service delivery that they have come to expect from our brand."

The Rocco Forte Collection currently owns and manages 13 luxury hotels and resorts in Europe, including Brown's Hotel in London. The Luxor will be the company's second hotel in Egypt and fifth management contract.
