Exclusive Hotels buys the Royal Berkshire

Exclusive Hotels has bought the freehold of the 63-bedroom Royal Berkshire hotel in Ascot, off a guide price of £15m.

The property will join four other luxury country house hotels in the Exclusive portfolio, which include Pennyhill Park, Surrey; South Lodge, West Sussex; Lainston House, Hampshire; and the Manor House, Wiltshire.

The group, led by managing director Danny Pecorelli, also owns two golf clubs - Manor House in Wiltshire and Mannings Heath in West Sussex.

Set in 15 acres of landscaped grounds, the Royal Berkshire is a Queen Anne country house hotel which until recently has been operated by Jarvis Hotels under the Ramada brand. It is situated five miles from Windsor Castle, two miles from the racecourse at Royal Ascot and close to Wentworth Golf Club.

CBRE Hotels handled the sale of the property.
