Summer season will deliver £1m more in sales for Prestige Scotland

Prestige Scotland has announced booming business at its venues this summer, with predicted sales for 2011 £1m up on last year.

The dedicated catering division of Sodexo Prestige operates at a number of leading Scottish venues, including Blair and Glamis castles, Perth racecourse, the National Galleries of Scotland, and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Prestige Scotland is predicting sales, boosted by a series of high-profile concerts at its venues - such as Take That at Hampden Park stadium, Rod Stewart at Aberdeen Football Club and Westlife at Hamilton Park racecourse - will be £1m more than 2010.

Amanda Brown joined the company last year to grow its conferencing and banqueting business and Prestige Scotland said it was seeing strong growth in these areas across the country.

Austin Tilsley, Prestige Scotland's regional director, said that the strong full-year forecast in this "tough environment" was a fantastic result for the firm and gave the business strong foundations for the future.

"We have been working very hard with our clients to understand their needs and put the correct structures in place," he said.

"Appointing Amanda Brown as national accounts director has been important for us and retaining many talented members of staff has been a key factor in our ability to win more business."

The company hopes to provide 100,000 hospitality covers, serve 500,000 pints of beer, provide 250,000 meals to visitors to tourist attractions, and cater to 150 weddings between April and September.

Highlights for the year include an increase in conference and banqueting sales at Hamilton Park racecourse, events business up at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, overall business up at Aberdeen, and sales for the events business as a whole have improved by more than 20%.
