Former MasterChef contestants join forces for charity dinner
A group of former MasterChef contestants and other TV chefs have joined forces with organiser ArrangeMeA.com and secret supper club The Friday Food Club to help raise money for the Winston's Wish charity - a charity for bereaved children.
Winston's Wish Charity Supper Night will see chefs, be hosted by Dhruv Baker (MasterChef Winner 2010), Mark Lloyd (Ex River Cottage Head Chef), Steve Groves (MasterChef ‘The Professionals' Winner 2009 , now at Rouxat Parliament Square), James Knight-Pacheco (BBC2's Out of the Frying Pan), Lisa Faulkner (Celebrity MasterChef Winner 2010) and Lee Behan (Friday Food Club) cook a five course meal.
The event will take place at Newton Prep School, 149 Battersea Park Road, London SW8 4BX on Saturday 11 June at 7pm.
The evening will start with a drinks reception followed by a 5-course meal including a raffle and auction with the evening ending with live music and dancing.
Tickets are priced at £75 and include a pre-dinner drink. Half a bottle of wine will be provided for each person and we would encourage you to bring further wine if required. Dress code will be smart casual. To book your place go to www.arrangemea.com/
Lexi Proud, managing director for ArrangeMeADate.com told Caterer how she first heard about the charity when her friend was dying from cancer and.she helped looked after her four-year-old son.
"I had no experience of this type of situation so went about searching for information on how to tell a child their parent is dying.
"Winston's Wish have been amazing in their support to little George and my friends family. Sadly, my friend Annie died in January this year so I relied upon the charity so much in how to tell George what had happened and how to deal with a funeral. I just wanted to give something back to them for all of their help and so this is how the ArrangeMeA charity night came about."
"The help from the six chefs has truly been amazing and I cannot thank them enough. Winston's Wish is so small but the work they do outstanding," Proud added.
Winston's Wish, the charity for bereaved children, helps young people re-adjust to life after the death of a parent or sibling. By providing professional assistance before, during and after bereavement they help them to better understand the nature of loss and offer the practical support and guidance that many need in order to cope throughout the grieving process.
