Acorn winners 2011 – David Morison

Age 27
Position HR advisor, the Sheraton Park Tower (a position he took up since winning his Acorn)
Nominator Michael Shepherd
Proudest career moment Co-ordinating and writing the entry for the whole of Hilton UK for the Best Companies to Work For Award and then seeing the company gain 18th place. It was a lot of work but well worth it as it raised both Hilton and our industry's profile to a vast audience.
Greatest inspiration Michael Shepherd, general manager for Hilton Park Lane, who mentored and supported me from day one.
Ambition To be a HR director for a large London hotel or cluster of smaller properties.

Following his graduation from London Metropolitan University, David Morison joined the Hilton Park Lane as HR co-ordinator in 2007. He was promoted to HR officer the following year and excelled, winning a Rising Star of the Year award in 2008 and an Employee of the Month award in 2009. Morison is a strong advocate of apprenticeships and a keen supporter of the Hilton in the Community Foundation.
