Compass's WhiteOaks division wins three-year deal with Staffordshire Housing Association
Compass Group's care business WhiteOaks has won a three-year contract with Staffordshire Housing Association worth almost £500,000.
The contract at the new West End Village in Stoke-on-Trent is the first time that WhiteOaks has partnered with a housing association to provide a restaurant service for residents and for the local community.
Each of the 100 apartments in the village has its own fully fitted kitchen but WhiteOaks will serve home-cooked meals every day, and run additional services such as a café service and a cooked brunch on Saturdays.
It will also offer afternoon teas, themed celebration days and barbecues to support the aim of creating a sociable and welcoming community for residents and their visitors.
Around 130 residents aged 55-plus live at the West End Village, which was completed earlier this year, benefiting from a range of community facilities including restaurant, bar, therapy and fitness suite, hairdresser and general store.
Steve Cenci, managing director of Compass Group healthcare business, said, "Retirement villages are huge in the USA and this type of over 55s accommodation is also a growing market in the UK.
"Our new contract with Staffordshire Housing Association is an important new route for WhiteOaks and one which we're excited to explore in partnership with residents at West End Village."
