Compass buys Hong Kong's Shing Hin Catering Group
Compass Group shows no sign of leaving the international acquisition trail after it snapped up another overseas catering operation, this time in Hong Kong.
The global food service business today announced that its subsidiary, Compass Group Hong Kong, had acquired Shing Hin Catering Group from Mr Au-Yeung Kwan.
Shing Hin generated annual revenues to 31 December 2010 of HK$159.4m (£12.7m) and gross assets at that date were HK$17.2m (£1.4m).
In a statement made to the London Stock Exchange, Compass said the latest acquisition strengthened its existing food services business within the education and B&I sectors in Hong Kong and would reinforce the platform for further development into the fast-growing Chinese market.
Last month Compass announced it had bought Elior's business in the Netherlands as well as BGP Resurs in Sweden. Prior to that it announced the acquisitions of Menke Menue in Germany, Chiyoda Food in Japan and Spanish caterer Sabora.
