Hilton offers six apprenticeships for new hotel at Heathrow's T5

The new 350-bedroom Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 is joining forces with the Academy of Culinary Arts, the Academy of Food and Wine Service and West London University to provide six food and beverage apprenticeships.

The successful applicants will work under the guidance of Cyrus Todiwala (pictured), who will be running the hotel's signature restaurant, Mr Todiwala's Kitchen, and the hotel's executive chef Paul Danabie. They will include four kitchen and two front-of-house positions.

The apprentices will undertake a three-year NVQ course, which will result in an Academy of Culinary Arts Diploma Examination in Professional Cookery. The course will be run by West London University, of which Todiwala is associate professor.

Caroline Lowe, director of human resources at the hotel, said the apprenticeships will help the property to discover and train the best talent in hospitality. "Investing in our team members is a key focus for us and we are currently recruiting the best possible team to work in our new hotel," she said.

The Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 is due to open on 31 August 2011.
