Pasta specialist Giovanni Rana to open London restaurant at Regent's Place
Italian pasta producer Giovanni Rana is to open its first UK restaurant in London this autumn.
The company has signed a lease on a 5,000sq ft site at the mixed-use Regent's Place development, where it will open Da Giovanni.
Giovanni Rana first launched restaurant chain Da Giovanni in Italy, where it now runs 24 outlets. It also has four restaurants in Switzerland and is planning to open another eight across Europe in the next year.
The restaurants are inspired by Italian kitchens of the 1950s and offer fresh pasta, pizza and Italian breakfasts within an open-plan area. The London restaurant will feature open kitchens and will be divided into three distinct areas: an informal dining room, an antipasti and aperitivi area and a private function space.
At Regent's Place Da Giovanni will join the recently opened healthy fast-food operator Pod as well as existing outlets by Eat, Wasabi, Starbucks and Pret A Manger.
David Lockyer, head of West End asset management at British Land, Regent's Place estate manager, commented: "The arrival of Da Giovanni and Pod will further boost the diverse amenity offer at Regent's Place and we expect they will be well received by the estate's growing community of more than 10,000 people."
